Fisher's Fishes

Welcome to Fisher's Fishes, a global, virtual, student-led community of budding quantitative biologists.

In the absence of a formal curriculum and guidance on how to start in this interdisciplinary field, we help each other learn by hosting a curated mix of talks by faculty and peers. We simultaneously function as a platform where people can present things that spark their curiosity, whether that's a paper they wrote, their master’s thesis project, or just a paper they're interested in and want to dig into with others.

We are passionate about expanding access to quantitative biology in the Global South, where the support for this exciting, interdisciplinary field is thinnest. A lot of people never find out that quantitative biology is a path open to them at all, and that lack of awareness is something we can take on directly. Anyone who wants to foster a community like this in their own university or region is welcome to join us, and as more and more people connect we shall form a network offering many invaluable perspectives.
